Half full? Half empty?
How do you see it?
Perspective is key!
So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective. Colossians 3:1-2 MSG
Perspective is defined as: a view, particular attitude toward or way of reading something, outlook, attitude, frame of reference, approach, way of looking, standpoint, interpretation.
Perspective is key!
Perspective is the key that unlocks every challenge, determining set-back or success. A God given perspective is paramount to our faith filled walk. For, it is when we see through the Father’s eyes, a new thing springs forth. In the Father’s eyes…no cause is lost. Miracles happen. Strength is renewed. Fear flees. Encouragement enlightens. Eyes are opened. Faith empowered. Hearts renewed. Souls restored. The lonely embraced. Turmoil transformed. Peace reigns. The Light dawns. A Way is made. Rivers spring forth. Our spirit refreshed.
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19 ESV
As the Word pours in to one who is a receptive vessel, the faith level rises.
In Christ, our cup begins to overflow as we submit to His flowing fount.
Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. Matthew 21:21 NIV
Faith - Strong’s Concordance Greek 4102: Faith, belief, trust, confidence,
fidelity, faithfulness.
Doubt - Strong’s Concordance Greek 1252: to separate thoroughly, i.e, to withdraw from,
or oppose; figuratively, to discriminate, or hesitate.
Doubt will keep us empty, but faith fills us up; yet, it is only to the level we believe that we are filled. Do you believe God is the same yesterday, today, and forever? That He moves among us? In us? Through us? Today…no matter the situation surrounding us... God lives! It is when we believe, truly believe, our faith overflows - moving the mountain before us.
May we not be opposed to the outpouring of His Spirit. Believe. Receive. Be filled.
The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living. It’s our handle on what we can’t see. The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd. Hebrews 11:1 MSG
May our point of view turn heavenly, that we would see what lies before us through the Father’s eyes. May our faith be based upon the Word, our walk empowered by His Spirit, and our soul refreshed by His Living Water.
Let our perspective not be half empty, nor half full; instead, overflowing with the the faith of the Father. Envision it! Until your cup overflows!
Prayer
Father,
The mountain I face, has overshadowed me, causing my perspective to go awry. My faith has become dry. My confidence wishy-washy. I hesitate to believe - again.
You are my glory, and the lifter of my head. Please, Lord, lift my head in this moment, for I have not been focused on You. My eyes have been set upon the situation before me, and focusing on this mountain has caused my faith to slowly evaporate.
In ways, I feel empty.
Doubt has caught my attention.
My attitude needs adjusting.
I repent for doubting.
Bless me with vision. Insight. Remove from my eyes the scales of doubt.
I am thirsty for more of You, Lord. Pour Your Spirit in to me that my cup may overflow with the faith of the Father. I believe. I receive. Fill me up, Oh God, with more of You.
I surrender the key in to Your hands. Unlock my perspective. Let faith overflow.
Open my eyes, Lord, to see with Your God-given viewpoint.
Then suddenly… the mountain will fall into the sea, as my cup overflows with Your
Living Water, washing away all doubt.
No matter the mountainous situation before me… I AM that I AM! (Exodus 3:14)
My cup overflows. Psalm 23:5b
Overflows - Strong’s Concordance Hebrew 7310: Saturation
From the root word Ravah: satisfaction - runneth over, wealthy.
In Christ, my vessel is saturated, satisfied, running over, wealthy.
Help me to see as You see, Father, with a God- given perspective. For it is key to a life brimming with hope, running over, refreshing this dry and thirsty land.
Truly, perspective is key!
Amen
Psalm 23 NKJV
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever.
