I lift my eyes to the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes

from the Lord the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2 NIV

The Lord is with me; He is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies.

Psalm 118:7 NIV

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble.

Psalm 46:1 NIV

But You, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; You consider their grief and take it in hand.

The victims commit themselves to You; You are the helper of the fatherless.

Psalm 10:14 NIV

I will send you a Helper.

John 16:7 NKJV

But the Helper, (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor - Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.

John 14:26 Amplified Classic Edition

So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid.

What can mere mortals do to me?

Hebrews 13:6 NIV

Pause. Stop. Look up! Rest. Take a seat. Reflect. Know you are not alone.

Your Helper is at hand. The Lord your God is with you. Your help comes from the Maker of heaven and earth. The Almighty God is your support. Your strength and shield. He upholds the fatherless. Secures those in need. Truly, He is your Advocate, Intercessor, Comforter, Counselor, ever-present help in times of trouble. Be confident in this: the Holy Spirit has been sent to assist you in all things.

He will console you, embracing you with compassion. He knows your heart. He hears your cries.

Pour out your concerns to Him for He cares for you. Talk with Him. Take a seat!

Prayer

Father,

I choose to take a seat - acknowledging You are my respite.

I pause. Stop. Look up. Resting within this moment. I call upon You, and cry out, “Help me God!” I am overwhelmed by all I am facing. I need assistance, guidance, counsel. I need You! I invite You, Holy Spirit, to step into my situation. Be my advocate. Strengthen me. Remove from me all insecurity, and secure me within the promises of God. Thank You for interceding for me. In Your presence, I am reminded, I am not alone. You are with me, my ever-present help in times of trouble. I will not be afraid. The hills and the valleys belong to You, Lord. Assuredly, You will carry me through this chasm of testing. As I look to You, I am renewed. Within this moment, You have given me the strength to go on confidently in You.

Amen
