“Peace be still!”
Mark 4:39 NKJV
Jesus foreknew of the tumultuous times that would surround us; intuitively, He provided for us miraculously well! The Prince of Peace, imparted peace. We have been given the gift of His Holy Spirit. He is our Helper in this journey, and Teacher throughout life. We need not be troubled or afraid, for our peace is the Spirit of God Himself. He is the overseer of our tranquility, contentment, and prosperity. In Him, there is no torment. His kindness shall not depart from us, nor His covenant of peace be removed. (Isaiah 54:10) Christ, is our peace. In all things, if we reside in Christ, we dwell in peace - perfect peace. His presence in us, calms the storm. Triumphantly, we then can testify: “Though in the world we have tribulation, let us be of good cheer, for our God has overcome the world.” To every storm, with the authority given to us in Christ, we can speak, “Peace be still!”
The dictionary definition of peace is freedom from disturbance, quiet and tranquility, mental calm, free from anxiety or distress.
Are you at peace?
Does peace reign within you, or has the enemy crept in, creating a diabolical disturbance? Has he robbed you of tranquility? Like a triggered land mine, has chaos erupted within your walk? Have anxiety and distress taken ground? If so, it is time to fight back weary warrior! How? Surrender! Surrender the struggle into the hand’s of the Lord. Submit it to Him, once again. He will fight for you! (Joshua 23:10) Fix your eyes upon the Lord. For He is a shield about you, one’s glory, and the lifter your head. (Ps 3:3) For the battle belongs to Him. If we fight in our own strength, defeat is inevitable; HOWEVER, if we allow the Lord to fight for us, His victory is at hand. No matter what the present-day outcome, His peace will prevail. Can you sense it warrior? God has gone before you. Look up! Lift your head, O ye gates and make way for the King of Glory to come in! Who is the King of Glory? He is the Lord strong and mighty, mighty in battle! (Psalm 24:7) Regroup, warrior! Stand firm! The Lord has heard your distress. He will lift you up, and set your feet upon the Rock of Jesus Christ. He will put a new song in your mouth. (Psalm 40:1-3) Many will come to put their trust in Him through your war cry of faith, as you surrender to Him, and declare, “He is my peace within the battle!”
He is our peace!
Do not fret or have anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 AMPC)
The Lord shall give true peace to those who depend upon Him, to those who truly trust in Him, peace shall be found. (Isaiah 26:3) It seems, that peace and trust go hand in hand with our Lord. Today, surrender, in trust, and take the hand of Peace, the Prince of Peace. Allow the tranquility of His presence within you to silence the storm that rages about.
We are instructed to allow the peace of God, the Messiah Himself, to govern our feelings, to arbitrate our thoughts, and be thankful. (Colossians 3:15)
It is an invitation to those who are called… the gift of perfect peace.
Prayer
Father,
I confess I have been out of peace.
I have allowed my circumstances to dictate and rule the emotions of my heart.
I repent, and surrender to You, Prince of Peace. In trust, I take Your hand.
I humbly acknowledge, that the Lord alone is my peace, and in the Name of Jesus, I take captive every thought, making it obedient to Christ.
Holy Spirit, fill me afresh with Your presence. Renew me, bringing the Shalom of Heaven into the depths of my heart, as I submit all my anxieties, trouble, and fears to You. Truly, Lord, You are the overseer of my tranquility.
Step into my storm, Prince of Peace. I receive You whole-heartedly.
I invite You, to rule and govern my emotions, freeing me from the disturbances of every distress. Indeed, Your presence stills the crashing waves surrounding me.
As I breathe You in, Your peace brings soundness to my soul.
No longer shall I surrender to the tremors of tribulation; instead, I choose to be of good cheer. For You, Holy Spirit, have brought to my remembrance the victory of the Lord - in all things. For our God has overcome the world!
Moment by moment, day by day, help me to focus on You.
With great passion, I choose to seek peace and pursue it. (Psalm 34:14b)
For You, O Lord, are my peace! (Ephesians 2:14a)
I accept Your gift of perfect peace.
Assuredly, Prince of Peace, come rule my heart.
Today, I embrace the God of peace, who will swiftly pound satan to a pulp underneath my feet! And the wonderful favor of our Lord Jesus will surround me!
(Romans 16:20 TPT)
The victory is mine in Christ Jesus!
Shalom.
