For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Proverbs 23:7a NKJV
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NKJV
The key to conquering captivity is within your reach.
Though you may not be encapsulated by prison walls of stone, a prison made by your mental perception may have enveloped you. Walls built by words. Such foundational stones become established within one’s core belief. Dumb. Ugly. Fat. Failure. You will never measure up. Abuse. Neglect. Fear. Abandonment. The anguish remains by our compliance. Once established, it relentlessly generates low self-worth. The wounds throb as our memory concurs with each word declared. Imprisoned by our point of view, our personality becomes locked within our thoughts. A barbed boundary becomes established holding back our true identity. We settle into a cell of insufficiency. Slander enslaves us. We accept deficiency - not grasping for the truth of how God sees us. His Word is revelatory, emancipating,
life-giving. The Truth lies within our grasp.
In Christ, we have the authority to demolish every prison stronghold. We can cast down every thing that exalts itself against the doctrine of God. Confidently, we can take every thought captive. Assertively, command each thought a prisoner to the obedience of Christ. In Christ, yes, we are more than conquerors! Break out! Agree with His Word! Step forth emancipated from the prison of perception. It is for such freedom, Christ set us free. Without restriction we can be all God has made us to be! Freedom reigns as we comply with the truth. For where the Spirit of the Lord is; there is freedom.
The Word of God…the key to conquering captivity.
Prayer
Father, I repent for coming into agreement with anything other than Your word. I choose to break out of the prison of the past and shake off all misconceptions hovering over my identity. In the Name of Jesus, I take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ. By the power of God imputed to me, I tear down the strongholds that have imprisoned me. I call in Your Truth. I declare that Your Truth sets me free. I release Your healing power to my very core: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. In Jesus’ Name, I declare freedom to my well-being and self-image. I decree,”I agree with Your Holy Word.” I have been blessed with the mind of Christ. In my heart, I believe. I am as You say. I am, because of I AM. I take hold of Your key, unlocking the shackles that have imprisoned me. You have set me free! It is through You, I am free indeed! Truly, Your Word is the key to conquering captivity!
