Ebb and Flow
Winding within the visual of the whirling windsock is a prophetic picture of our interactive relationship with the Spirit of God. The windsock is a carrier of the wind, a tubular instrument through which the force of the wind blows, indicating the power of the presence within. This flexible, open-ended cylinder moves in cadence with the measure of the wind. From a gentle breeze, to a forceful gust, the windsock shifts with the wind’s direction. Though, it lies still at times, it is never empty, for the air is ever-present. Such is our relationship with the wind of the Spirit. For, it is in Him we live, and move, and have our being. (Acts 17:28a)
Jesus said...
“The Spirit is like the wind that blows wherever it wants to. You can hear the wind, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it is going.” John 3:8b CEV
[Strong’s Concordance: Spirit - wind, breath, spirit 4151]
“…the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” John 14:25-26 NIV
[Strong’s Concordance: Spirit - wind, breath, spirit 4151]
After the Resurrection, Jesus appeared to the disciples.
Then he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. John 20:22 CEV
[Strong’s Concordance: Spirit - wind, breath, spirit 4151]
I have baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.
Mark 1:8 AMPC [Strong’s Concordance: Spirit - wind, breath, spirit 4151]
Suddenly, the wind came!
On the day of Pentecost the followers gathered and were filled with the Holy Spirit.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Acts 2:2 KJV
An out pouring of the Holy Spirit has been promised for all people.
“‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.” Acts 2:17-18
[Strong’s Concordance: Spirit - wind, breath, spirit 4151]
Like the opened ended windsock, we are to move with the wind of the Spirit upon the Lord's direction. We are authorized by Him to do great things through the mighty Name of Jesus. In obedience, we are to follow the lead of the Spirit. Stepping out in faith, we pray. It is our prayers, partnered with the Spirit of God moving through us, that release the power of the Living God within us. As we wait upon the Lord in the stillness of the moment, the whirl of His Spirit will show us the way.
It is a mighty union!
God's sacrifice, and our words working together: conquer, defeat, demolish, triumph over the enemy. By the blood of the Lamb, and the word of our testimony, the accuser of the brethren is overcome!
Miracles happen when we partner with the Lord!
May we move so freely with the Lord that the cadence of our walk together with His Holy Spirit resembles the ebb and flow of the wind and the windsock. May the Lord,
give us ears to hear, and eyes to see - what the Spirit is doing.
Today, you may feel the wind has been knocked out of you. Know, He remains. Like the wind, He is a steady current within the hearts of those who believe. His presence is constant. His power is purposed. His breath is in us.
Listen! The wind of the Spirit is stirring!
Breathe in! May this be a time of refreshing.
Be empowered by the Lord!
In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].
Ephesians 6:10 AMPC
Great things are to come, together with the Lord!
Prayer
Father,
I pray for the Spirit of the Living God to fall afresh upon me within this moment.
I receive the outpouring of Your Spirit.
In You, I am empowered. Through me, may Your power move.
May this truly be a time of refreshing.
And now you must repent and turn back to God so that your sins will be removed, and so that times of refreshing will stream from the Lord’s presence. (Acts 3:19 TPT)
So be it, Lord. I repent, and turn back to You. As I draw nearer to You, may Your Wind of refreshing be released within me.
Like the flexibility of the windsock, I long to ebb and flow with the wind of Your Spirit. Daily, I rise to be emboldened, to take flight, through the fresh wind of God Almighty. For You are - the wind beneath my wings. As You breathe upon me now, I breathe You in, bringing to my remembrance, Christ in me - the Hope of Glory!
In obedience, I choose to follow Your lead. I must say, when I do so, my view point changes. From the heavens, I see with a heavenly perspective, as I take flight with You.
Without You, I am nothing; however, together, partnered with You, great things are done! Open my eyes to see, and my ears to hear, what Your Spirit is doing.
Truly, in You:
I live [I am alive in Him!],
and move [I am set in motion through Him!],
and have my being [In Him, I am!]
(It is through him that we live and function and have our identity. Acts 17:28a TPT)
From: The God of the Control Tower, To: the Carrier of My Wind,
“Together, let us live, and move, and have our being, as co-laborers, moving in one accord: the carrier of My Presence, and the Wind of My Spirit.”
In the Name of Jesus.
Amen
