A Time For Everything
There is a special time for everything. There is a time for everything that happens under heaven. There is a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pick what is planted. There is a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up. There is a time to cry, and a time to laugh; a time to have sorrow, and a time to dance. There is a time to throw stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to kiss, and a time to turn from kissing. There is a time to try to find, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to throw away. There is a time to tear apart, and a time to sew together; a time to be quiet, and a time to speak. There is a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NLV
Hand in Hand
In reflecting upon time well spent, there seems to be two hands that direct our time. Above all time is the hand of the Lord. The Creator of time. The Lord of the seasons. The Maker of our destiny. His time is eternal. Purposed. He holds a plan for our lives.
For the Almighty God determines the length of our days. Time with Him is transforming. Miracles happen within God’s perfect time. In Him, all things will be changed in a moment - in a twinkling of an eye.
The second hand is the hand of man. Our every moment is a timely decision. Circumstances and choices, chime constantly before us. The demands of the day dictate our path; however, what becomes of the moments that are unencumbered by responsibilities? What fills our free time?
His Presence
As we sit under the shadow of His wing, we find love, light, help, healing, fullness of joy, restoration, strengthening, purification. The list is endless. In Him, we find all that we need. All that is good. All that is true. All that is right. Trustworthy and pure. His presence is invigorating! Full of life and light! There is no darkness within Him. In His presence, we are transformed from glory to glory. Unequivocally, God makes everything beautiful in its time.
What better way is there to spend our time, but in the presence of God?
The more we know Him; the more we love Him. Our Father in heaven is good. So many have a distorted picture of God the Father. It is when we spend time with Father God that His true character is revealed. The Lord beckons us, “In To Me See” goodness, mercy, and love…a good Father…full of grace…just in His judgement. There is no evil within the heart of God.
I take a minute to say:
I hear the Lord calling, inviting us to “Come.”
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
(Matthew 11:28)
“Come now and let us reason together.”
(Isaiah 1:18a)
“Draw close to Me, and I shall draw close to you.”
( James 4:8a)
“I will be found by you as you seek Me with all your heart.”
(Jeremiah 29:13)
There is a time for everything.
May we accept the Lord’s invitation,
joining both hands together, and “Come!”
Prayer
Father,
May I walk out my time upon this earth hand in hand with You.
Please, remove the scales from my eyes that I may see You more clearly. Heal the wounds within my heart that have distorted my vision of You. I forgive those who have wounded me; especially, those I thought I could trust…my Dad, and all the father figures in my life. I release every wound caused from abandonment, fear, anxiety, anger, violence, disappointments, every failure, alcoholic attack, pornography, verbal abuse, physical, abuse, sexual abuse, and shame into Your healing hands. Set me free from this bondage, I pray. Fill me with the fullness of joy that comes from Your presence.
Each moment I spend with You, my Father, will bring a deeper level of healing to my soul. Your Word is true. Where the Spirit of the Lord is - there is freedom!
I choose intimacy, “In To Me See” the heart of my Father in heaven, my Healer, my Deliverer, my Friend, my Counselor, my Redeemer. I desire to rest under the wing of Your pure love. In trust, I draw closer to You this moment in time. For, I have come to the realization, that to know You is to love You, for You are love.
May my life reflect Your glory.
( The dictionary definition of reflected glory is fame or approval achieved through association with someone else rather than through one’s own efforts.)
Unquestionably, in every season, time spent with You is time well spent.
Amen
