We walk by faith not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
The Lord is my strength
[my source of courage, my invincible army];
He has made my feet
[steady and sure]
Like hinds’ feet
And makes me walk
[forward with spiritual confidence]
On my high places
[of challenge and responsibility].
Habakkuk 3:19 AMP
The gospel of peace. Ephesians 6:15 NKJV
The Lord desires we walk by faith. He equips us. Guides us. Directs our course. He makes our feet steady as we trust in Him. He leads us on a pathway of eternal adventure taking us to higher heights. Places where those strengthened in the Lord can travel - destined to persevere - resilient to offense. Though the wind of adversity blows on the heights, we can determine to use such force to propel us forward in the Lord. Our journey upon this earth is purposed for God’s glory. God is for us, who can stand against us. United with the Lord, we can walk out the most difficult course; assuredly, stepping out in faith. The Almighty empowers us as we look to Him. He imparts spiritual confidence in challenging times, calling us forth to fulfill our destiny. New life births our journey purposed in Him; regardless, trouble can trip us up. Opposition comes at us in many directions. Unwittingly, we can begin to base our walk no longer by faith, but by sight. It is in these moments we need to check our spiritual shoes. With this, I ask…
“What is on your feet?”
Fear?
Fear paired with faith causes an imbalance.
Worry?
Immobilizes us, then commands we take two steps back.
Pride?
Gets us off course.
A grudge?
Will keep us tripping over our laces.
Unbelief?
Stops us dead in our tracks.
A man-made brand?
This shoe causes one’s s-o-u-l to wear out.
Hopelessness?
A step is never taken.
Or…
Faith?
Shod with faith we can surge forward through the thickest oppression.
Peace?
With our feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace, we help advance the kingdom of God.
Trust?
Weariness is lifted. Confidence restored.
Forgiveness?
We no longer carry the weight of another. Unhindered! Free to step forward!
The Lord has called us to walk confidently in Him, not in ourselves. A new paradigm begins as we walk by faith. Righteousness, peace, and joy lead our way once we surrender our course of action to our heavenly trailblazer: Jesus Christ. Partnered with Christ, our journey promises to be an eternal expedition.
What is on your feet?
May it be to the glory of God!
Prayer
Father, I long to partner with You. I desire to walk by faith. Forgive me, Father, for getting off course. As I check my feet, I choose to remove any shoes not of You. Please forgive me for wearing the shoes of ______________. Restore my feet to walk by faith again, allowing me to go to higher places with You. I leave behind every grudge and weariness of my s-o-u-l. I repent of hopelessness and unbelief. Forgive me for all of my pride. I meant well in my man-made attempts to help You on this journey. Now, I see how they have hindered me instead of helping You. I repent for relying upon myself, depending on my direction, taking the lead and following my own course. I long to get rid of these worn shoes. Make an exchange this day, I ask, dear Lord, re-sole my journey with faith. Confidently, I will move forward in You with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. To God be the glory!
Amen
